This portion of the book was, in my opinion, Sandford boilerplate and, as a result, undistinguished and predictable.

It begins with the unearthing literally of the bodies of two young girls who were believed to be kidnapped and murdered in – a case to which neophyte cop Lucas Davenport was assigned.
There’s a problem loading this menu right now. Jim is Darrell’s attorney. Through the years, he has risen through the ranks and is now head of the state’s Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. I found I enjoyed this one even more than I usually do. And Del Capslock will show Lucas another side to policing, empathy, which is so different from the street cop side. The storyline is intriguing with several twists throughout. Sandford’s recurring characters are vivid,determined and likable.
He was a very bad boy. One of the better entries in this always good series.

The book shifts to a flashback, and we get to see a year-old Lucas who is such a dog, he makes the something Lucas of the series look like a monkstill new to the police force and trying to earn his stripes. Sandford has a winner with Buried Prey. The bodies turn out to be a case that Lucas worked on 25 years ago that he never felt settled about.

While the ending satisfied the pay off of my time invested into reading this particular case, I can’t say I’m inspired to go back and find out more about Lucas Davenport. As luck would have it, they were the victims in Lucas Davenport’s first real murder case and he felt that he flubbed it my word, not his. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. While he learns alot, there is one major sxndford made. I now know more than I ever wanted to about the finer points of peeing off a fishing boat, male version.
John Retrief is an imaging expert. With the bodies discovered, Davenport has the chance to return to the crime that has haunted him for years. Was the wrong man convicted of the murder of two young girls?
This being the 21st book I’m sure there is established character development that I had missed out on. Let’s face it, he was born a hound sandforc.
He was a reporter for The Miami Herald fromand then a reporter for the St. DeeDee McAllister is a lawyer, married to Mark who has a nice gun collection, and she’s sleeping with Lucas. Millard is another witness with helpful, maybe, information. I began reading the “Prey” books many years ago and began with the ones written in the late 90’s and early ‘s.
